Whiteman Spirit Award

Capt. Michael Belardo, 13th Bomb Squadron, received the Whiteman Spirit Award from Col. John Robinson, 509th Bomb Wing vice commander, Nov. 19.

Lt. Col. William Eldridge, 13th BS commander, nominated Captain Belardo for the award.

Captain Belardo received the Spirit Award for contributing to the morale of the squadron and improving Whiteman's community relations.

He organized the squadron for a landscaping detail at Whiteman's Elementary School, volunteered for a 6 a.m. shift pumping gas to raise money for the 13th BS booster club and organized a squadron "Oktoberfest."
