The MILITARY STAR card is now accepted at commissaries around the world for all branches of service. As the military exchanges’ Exchange Credit Program expands acceptance of the MILITARY STAR card to commissaries, the card will offer more convenience and continue to benefit service members and their families.

Whiteman’s Commissary launched the acceptance of the MILITARY STAR card as a form of payment Nov. 3, 2017.

The MILITARY STAR card is a credit card exclusively available to military personnel and their families through the Exchange Credit Program. It can be used to make purchases at any Military Exchange or commissary, with multiple benefits available to the cardholder. The card also benefits quality of life programs.

The card is designed to assist the cardholder with their financial needs which may include an everyday purchase at the commissary or a more unique purchase for their military lifestyle for an individual who may be deploying or changing permanent duty stations.

There are many benefits with the MILITARY STAR card. Cardholders are offered: flexible terms, such as no annual, late or over-limit fees, in addition to two points per dollar on purchases and a $20 gift card after earning 2,000 points, a 10 percent discount on all first day purchases, a lower annual percentage rate among retail-issued cards no matter the cardholder’s credit score, and much more.

“The acceptance of the MILITARY STAR card at commissaries is a great benefit for service members, retirees and families,” said Kelly Driscoll, a Commissary Officer of the Defense Commissary Agency. “They are able to receive points when using their MILITARY STAR card to purchase items from yet another source that they utilize on a weekly or even daily basis.”
