Individual pronounced dead after incident at Whiteman Air Force Base pool

At approximately 6 p.m., June 20, 2021, Whiteman Air Force Base emergency personnel responded to the base pool for a report of an unresponsive individual.

Responders administered CPR before transferring the individual to Western Missouri Medical Center. The individual was pronounced dead at approximately 8 p.m.

In accordance with Department of Defense policy, the name of the deceased will be released 24 hours after next of kin have been notified. Military law enforcement authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
