Public Affairs is the focal point for providing information on Whiteman issues, programs and base events to Airmen, the community and members of the news media. 

The staff conducts base tours, provides speakers for civic organizations in the community, and is the commander's liaison between the base and local media organizations. 

All media requests concerning Whiteman people, programs and events must be coordinated through Public Affairs.

The U.S. Air Force engages in Public Affairs to provide trusted counsel to leaders; build, maintain, and strengthen Airman morale and readiness; enhance public trust and support, and achieve global influence and deterrence.

Public Affairs seeks to inform decision makers and communicate the service's requirements, capabilities, actions and achievements, to the world and keeps the Whiteman community fully informed with complete and accurate information. Our programs are designed to increase public understanding of the Whiteman mission.

Our Mission: PA provides a broad range of high-quality multimedia products and services to inform, educate, and entertain a joint military audience and connecting Team Whiteman to its community and the world.

Customer Service hours are Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Public Affairs office is located in the 509th Bomb Wing headquarters building, 509 Spirit Blvd, Bldg 509, Suite 116, Whiteman AFB.

Command Information

Command Information is responsible for providing information on activities of the base to all base personnel. 

Media Relations

Media Relations works with news media to provide interviews, coordinate visits and respond to queries.

Community Engagement

Our Community Engagement team works to increase public awareness and understanding of the Air Force's mission.
All Air Force military and civilian personnel  (including Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve personnel, retired military members, and former Air Force civilian employees) who release material related to units and assets at Whiteman Air Force Base will contact the 509th Bomb Wing Public Affairs to ensure DOD-related information released to the public is consistent with their requirement to safeguard classified and sensitive material.
