WHITEMAN AFB, Mo. - John Cashen the designer of the low observable radar feature of the B-2 aircraft, Irv Waaland the B-2 airframe designer, Doctor Janet Fender the Air Combat Command chief scientist, Brig. Gen. Garret Harencak 509th Bomb Wing commander, Jim Kinnu the program manager, John Griffin the government chief engineer, and Dave Mazur Northrop Grumman's MP-RTIP program manager, pose for a group photo after the “Fathers of Stealth” presentation Jan 16. The “Fathers of Stealth” commemorate the Twentieth Anniversary of the B-2 Stealth Bomber. Mr. Cashen, Mr. Waaland, Mr. Kinnu, and Mr. Griffin, the four “Fathers of Stealth” gave a briefing on the events that lead up to the production of the B-2. The information they provided included the beginning concept of a flying wing to the troubles and hurdles during the designing of the B-2 Stealth.
