Mrs. Gunn, an amateur historian from Cincinnati, Ohio became interested in Sergeant Anderson’s WW II history because she had lived at Camp Chinen, from 1956-60 and attended Awasi and Naha elementary Schools in Okinawa, Japan, eleven years after the end of WW II. The artifacts included Sergeant Anderson's WW II mess kit, a copy of the “Grim Reapers” yearbook; several issues of the WW II issued Yank Down Under news magazines, a Grim Reapers painting postcard, Anderson's original military records, photos, WW II era coins and an Air Force scrapbook with WW II photos of the 13th BS pilots and crew who served throughout the Pacific Theater.
