WHITEMAN AIR FORCE BASE, Mo. --
Team Whiteman directed Health Protection Condition (HPCON) Bravo, June 15, 2020 to combat the spread of COVID-19 across the Department of the Air Force and our local Missouri communities.
HPCON Bravo indicates installation personnel remain at a heightened risk of exposure and should continue follow strict health protection measures to include, but not limited to, social distancing, disciplined personal hygiene, hand washing and wear of protective masks when social distancing is not possible. The change in the HPCON level streamlines efforts that best protect Whiteman AFB personnel and the continuity of the base’s missions.
Unit commanders will continually assess the situation and make changes to facilities, programs, and services as needed to defend the installation and mitigate the spread of COVID-19, while maintaining operational readiness and providing for the moral and welfare of Airmen and their families.
“We have gotten to this point because of you and your families continually doing the right thing,” said Col. Jeffrey Schreiner, 509th Bomb Wing commander. “As we start to venture out again, we will continue to win this fight against COVID-19 with intelligent decision making, informed choices, and personal responsibility. Our mission cannot be compromised. We must continue to practice good hygiene and social distancing, keeping the curve flat locally and maintaining Whiteman AFB’s status as a healthy, safe place to live and work.”
Whiteman AFB officials declared a public health emergency March 22, and increased the installation HPCON to Charlie March 25, to combat the spread of COVID-19 across the Department of the Air Force and our local Missouri communities.
Service members must continue limiting their travel in accordance with current guidance and maintain proper social distancing and self-quarantine procedures.
