Resiliency showcased during Whiteman Storytellers event

U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Bryan Robinson, a military working dog handler assigned to the 509th Security Forces Squadron, and Maria Fussell, an education specialist assigned to the 509th Force Support Squadron, share personal trials they have had to overcome with members of Team Whiteman during the Storytellers event at Whiteman Air Force Base, Mo., Nov. 15, 2017. Whether it was the long-term suffering from losing loved ones, the trauma from facing a series of sexual assaults, or a decision that was career-changing, both speakers ultimately learned how to find strength through faith, family, and friends during those times of darkness. They encourage others who may be suffering to be strong, talk to someone, and proactively better their environment when possible. If you have a story you would like to share about overcoming adversity, or if you want to speak to someone about an issue you are facing, contact the 509th Bomb Wing Chapel Corps at 660-687-3652.
