New shelters for 442nd FW constructed

WHITEMAN AIR FORCE BASE, Mo., -- John Baggett, EDL Contracting Company, lifts the purlins onto the frame with a telescoping forklift. Shelters are being constructed for the 442nd Fighter Wing's A-10s between the A-10 maintenance hangers and the 509th Bomb Wing B-2 docks. Due to the 2005 realignment, whiteman had an increase of aircraft it did not have enough hanger space for. The shelters will be used for maintenance on the A-10’s during increment weather.
