Claims

The Air Force Claims Service Center in Dayton, Ohio is now the focal point for claims involving loss or damage to household goods, storage, personal property in government quarters and privately owned vehicles shipped or stored at government expense.

This new process will enable Airmen to file claims on-line and electronically submit required documents to the AFCSC in Dayton. Airmen can complete the process from home after a one time login on any government computer.

As members complete their claim on-line, they can get customer service over the web or from the center by phone. Not only will the online filing system accelerate the processing of the claim but it will allow for a more expeditious payment.

The DD Form 1840/1840R (pink forms or "Joint Statement of Loss or Damage at Delivery/Notice of Loss and/or Damage") will continue to be submitted within 70 days from the date of delivery to the Whiteman legal office.

The Whiteman legal office will still hand out claims packages and answer any general claims questions; however, specific questions regarding the on-line processing system, see the center's public website at http://legalassistance.law.af.mil/claims

In addition, claimants can come to the Whiteman Legal Office during normal business hours and utilize the claims kiosk. This kiosk will provide claimants a computer and scanner to assist in filing and substantiating their claims.

You can surf over to the center's Web site at https://claims.jag.af.mil to file a claim, or call the center at 1-877-754-1212 or DSN 986-8844 with questions.
